Strategize where your perfect clients hang out before creating your video Do you know which Social Media platform your perfect audience hangs out in? Alright….lets back up a bit. Before we find out where they are , we need to know who they are. If you haven’t already read the earlier BUILD a Money Spending AVATAR blog post where we created the overall picture of your perfect audience member… I’d suggest you read it. It’s how you know the following: Who they are, What’s their age. Where they live. Are they married/divorced/single? Have children? Do they work and where? All of these things will now help you find out where they live ~ online. By knowing the specific person that you’re looking to connect with You can then match that to the audience of a Social Media platform . Each platform’s users are uniquely defined by Age, Gender Economic/Personal status Communication Style Perhaps you’re asking why do I need to know where my video are going to be seen before I create them? Oooooh … Great Question!!! Because each platform values different aspects in a video. such as: Format Length Size Production Value Call to actions And You always want to be creating the best video for the right platform which ultimately attracts the right people. Lets take a look at some of the audience characteristics of the most popular Social media platforms right now? The demographics of Facebook users is nearly split down the middle, but leans more towards a female user base with 54% women and 46% men. 62% of all online men use facebook 72% of all online women use facebook The Statistics also say that… 81 % of online 18 - 29 year olds are using facebook 78 % of online 30 - 49 year olds are using facebook 75% of online urban adults use Facebook 67% online of suburban adults use Facebook 77% of college graduates use Facebook 75% of adults who make over $75,000 use Facebook Linked in is generally used for business to business contact. Here are a few statistics that might be useful if you’re looking to post your video on linked in. LinkedIn age & gender demographics 29% of 18-29 year olds use LinkedIn 33% of 30-49 year olds use LinkedIn The percentage of online women and men on the social media platform is equal with 25% of online women and 25% of online men using the LinkedIn Platform. Also valuable to know is 50% of adults who graduated college use LinkedIn and 45% of adults who make over $75,000 use LinkedIn Like Snapchat, Instagram leans towards a much younger audience appealing to teens and young adults with its platform being quick, easy to use and based solely on visual design Some age ranges include 72% of 13-17 year olds who are online use Instagram 64% of 18-29 year olds who are online use Instagram The platform also is more popular among women than men, 39% of online women use Instagram 30% of online men use Instagram Some other great stats are… 42% of online adults who graduated college use Instagram 42% of adults who make over $75,000 use Instagram Twitter has stayed a favourite for many of its users.
