Other Social Media Content to Fill In your Video CampaignHiya All Check out my bonus blog that I wanted to share with you in the Pre video and Pre Video Blog Series. It’s all about the other Social Media content that you can create that will compliment your video strategy. Lets face it! Although Video is a huge part of your overall Social Media Strategy It’s the best way to get across
However, video production takes time and most of the busy entrepreneurs & leaders that I know don’t have the time to create video posts for every day of the week. Your consumers and the platforms they’re on might favour a more bite sized content offering. It could look like a funny meme or perhaps even a poll to your audience. We’ve made it much easier now that you have a year’s worth of topics and titles because all you have to do now is focus the rest of your content to compliment the weekly titles and monthly topic theme. For example: If you’re a health coach and the first monthly topic is Getting started And you will have 4 titles in that topic. (For more info on creating topics and titles...Click here To see the previous blog/video on Creating Topics and Titles for a Whole Years Plan) The first week's video title is “Journaling Now for the Effective Results” The rest of the social media content could be the following:
Here’s a link to a .pdf list I've created for you of over 40 content creation ideas. Download it to get inspiration for your next social media campaign. It’ll give you all kinds of different ways to create social media content to compliment your video marketing strategy, All you have to do is fill in around the video plan you’ve created with all of the rest. And that’s all for today Thanks so much for coming by. Be sure to download the Content Quick Pick sheet to use as part of your yearly strategy And I’ll see y’all soon. CP~
Well hi there.
This is a part 2 to creating a whole year’s strategy for Social Media. In the previous video blog called Building out A Years Worth of Topics I showed you how easy it is to create 12 topics. One topic monthly for a full 12 months to reach a predetermined goal to make more money. To recap: 1. You set a yearly goal. 2. You figured out the formula of how video content will help you reach that goal. 3. You broke your year out into 12 monthly Topics. And now We’ll walk through an example of how to build out 6 months of those topics into “Weekly Titles” so that you’ll now have an idea of how to do it for your own strategy. Here’s YOUR recap I’ll Go over the example once more Goal: I want to make an additional $48000 selling my Educational Training Package by posting 4 videos each month, once a week. We made up a fictitious Title for your Educational package called “Changing your Mindset to Feel your Flow and Create Abundance”. Avatar Building: And your target persona is Rachel: A married Woman over 45 With Children Going through life changes. running their own business. Pain Points Your Avatar Is time starved. Has a hard time creating wealth. Where Online Your Avatar is likely hanging out On Facebook Under the fictitious title you built a year’s worth of topics which were the following
Starting from the beginning of your Educational Package and building out Course title = Changing your Mindset to Feel your Flow and Create Abundance Topic 1 Where you are now
Topic 2 Starting on the path
Topic 3 Tools of Change
Topic 4 Self Care
Topic 5 Evidence Of Success
Alright! I’m sure you can now see the logic in the build out. Can you imagine building out your own yearly topics and titles this way? I know you can :) Thanks so much for reading. Fabulous to see you here :) Ok…I’m not Santa. I can’t actually see you ;) Today I’ll be chatting with you creating a whole year’s worth of topics that you can use to reach the goals you’ve set out to accomplish. When I reached out to you entrepreneurs, coaches and speakers. So many of you have told me that you found it is incredibly difficult to figure out content all year round. AND some of you said that it even prevented you from creating it altogether. Using all of the tools we’ve learned so far in this Pre Video and Video Essential Series. Goal Setting, Persona Discovery, Avatar Building, Addressing Pain Points, Finding Clients Online and Getting More Clients with Engagement We’ll walk through first steps to *easily* creating content topics in order to reach your yearly goals Using your pre set goals that you’d previously decided on. If you haven’t set any goals You might want to go back and read the an earlier blog in this series around Goal setting where we spoke in depth about how to do this. Here’s an example of what you will want to know before you start creating your topic. Goal: I want to make an additional $48000 selling my Educational Training Package by posting 4 videos each month, once a week. Lets say your Title for your Educational package is “Changing your Mindset to Feel your Flow and Create Abundance”. Avatar Building: And your target persona is Rachel: A married Woman over 45 With Children Going through life changes. running their own business. Pain Points Your Avatar Is time starved. Has a hard time creating wealth. Where Online Your Avatar is likely hanging out On Facebook And now you want a years worth of Video Content Breaking your year down into 12 months You’ll end up with 12 Topics per month In the next blog post I will demonstrate how these can be further broken down into the weekly titles for 6 of the 12 topics. For now Take the elements of your package and divide them into topics.(I have helped tons of clients mind map these out.) Just off of the top of my head I’ll demonstrate by using these fictitious 12 topics for the example title that I just came up with... “Changing your Mindset to Feel your Flow and Create Abundance”.
You can see now that with your above avatar in mind the beginning of a strategy is materializing right before your eyes. Imagine! No more guessing if your content is right or if you are wasting your time. Using this example, can you think of 12 topic titles that can reach your ultimate goal? I know you can :) Thanks so much for reading. Hit Subscribe for video tips every single week and check out my Facebook page for updates. Well Hellooo Nice to see you back (hopefully you’ve been here before or now it’s just gotten awkward) I’m pretty pumped to share these 7 tips on how you can engage to attract more followers on Social Media. But not just any followers. The right followers. Engaging or communicating or talking with them helps you to develop a relationship with your audience outside of just your video. It would be wonderful if our video was the only way we needed to bond with our audience and it really *IS* a great way to reach them However, it’s not the only way! In an earlier blog where we discovered *where your online paying audience was on Social Media* We chatted about what online platform your best audience member visits most. This platform is where the majority of your video is going to live. So, now you need to know how to develop a relationship with that audience to enhance their experience and gain their trust. This is all about engagement and while each platform has it’s own style of engagement… Facebook loves long stories, memes and gifs. Twitter values quick chatter with 140 characters. And Instagram gets brief feedback below pictures. I’d love to focus on the overall ways that you can use engagement to inspire the know, like and trust factors. Here are my 7 golden engagement tips that will draw in your perfect audience: 1. Ask questions in your posts and on other’s. Being passionate about getting to know what your audience thinks can be gold when sourcing content and provide great social media conversations. 2. Join online groups and talk about your topic. Although, don’t join groups *willy nilly*. Choose those groups where your perfect audience live. Where they are looking for solutions similar to the ones you are offering For example, if you are a Health coach, join groups of people who are seeking ways to get fit and eat better. This is also great to identify and figure out a process or tip to help them solve their problems 3. Share other people’s content WITH with your positive feedback Reposting someone else’s picture, video or meme is Great! However, what’s even more personable is if you add feedback when sharing it. 4. Connect and collaborate with other influencers in your field and ask them to jointly share content. The *we’re all in this together* attitude will get you far. What better way to be introduced to a who new bunch of people that fit into your *perfect watcher *category than to connect with someone else who already has like minded viewers. You can even invite them to be a guest blogger which would add value to both Yours and Their feed. 5. Give regular audience members shoutouts in your video and tag them (if you can) What better way to make someone feel included or heard Than giving them a mention in one of your videos for something you’ve seen them write on a post of yours. 6. Engage in conversation beneficial to your topic. Some platforms such as Twitter have #groupchats where several people assemble to have conversation. Be aware Twitter’s chats can be quite quick if there are lots of people participating. Aside from organized group chats it can be as simple as having a conversation in a live chat or static post thread. Ideally it provides an opportunity for you to share valuable knowledge to someone that needs it. 7. Answer questions in groups or follow hashtags that ask questions which you could offer your expertise on. What better way to to establish yourself as knowledgeable than to give tips to someone asking that specific questions. You may even have answered that very question in your video blog and can post a link without seeming spammy. Be aware though Some groups don’t allow links to personal video. Check the individual group’s rules that are usually posted on top of the group. Remember when you’re in engagement mode on any platform: Don’t Go outside of your Persona. In the blog post where we talked about identifying *who you are* and meeting expectations this is where people will expect the same behaviour and personality as they’ve seen all along. And that’s it for now on Engaging your perfect Audience. Now go chat with your peeps :) Thanks so much for reading. CP~ Strategize where your perfect clients hang out before creating your video Do you know which Social Media platform your perfect audience hangs out in? Alright….lets back up a bit. Before we find out where they are , we need to know who they are. If you haven’t already read the earlier BUILD a Money Spending AVATAR blog post where we created the overall picture of your perfect audience member… I’d suggest you read it. It’s how you know the following: Who they are, What’s their age. Where they live. Are they married/divorced/single? Have children? Do they work and where? All of these things will now help you find out where they live ~ online. By knowing the specific person that you’re looking to connect with You can then match that to the audience of a Social Media platform . Each platform’s users are uniquely defined by Age, Gender Economic/Personal status Communication Style Perhaps you’re asking why do I need to know where my video are going to be seen before I create them? Oooooh … Great Question!!! Because each platform values different aspects in a video. such as: Format Length Size Production Value Call to actions And You always want to be creating the best video for the right platform which ultimately attracts the right people. Lets take a look at some of the audience characteristics of the most popular Social media platforms right now? I am expanding on the Pre Video and Video Blog Essential Series. You’ll get some neat info on how to imagine your perfect money spending client who is watching your video, show, blog or live stream.. Why do we need to know who is watching your video, show or live stream? So that we can create topics that they care about that will either solve their problem or entertain them really well Either way it helps that you know where they live virtually (what social media platforms), what they get excited about and what sort of things do they buy. This is where you can be creative and fun.. Create an Avatar The definition of a customer avatar is the following: *****a detailed profile of your ideal customer that focusses on one person and outlines everything about them.***** With your avatar in mind, who can you imagine being the most ideal customer? Perhaps you can think of the the easiest and most lucrative *in real life* people you’ve worked with in the past that could spark your imagining of the following traits:
Give your Avatar a name! Now! Write a day in their life using the smallest of details. Imagine their challenges….what gets them excited. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A little side note: Go back to the persona you created when you read this blog (create link to PERSONA) and now think. Do you believe your persona attracts your ideal audience? Yes! Awesome! No change to the persona is needed. No? You might need to change your persona to attract them…make sure that you can keep up appearances for a really long time. Your audience will always expect to see you like this. or Think of an avatar that you can attract with your current persona. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here’s an example of an Avatar that I’ve created for my own video blog. Rachel is a pretty liberal lady. She’s just turning 47 and has her degree in the arts or sciences. She has previously worked in her field in the corporate world for 25 years and has now been speaking, coaching and educating in her own business for the last 6 years. Rachel has a home in the suburbs of a populated city and cottages/vacations at her and husband’s second recreational property on the weekends when she’s not working. Her college kids join them once in a while when they aren’t at school She likes to impress visitors so she keeps her 2000 sq foot (they've downsized since the kids have left) home tidy by hiring a cleaner once a week. She is business focused. She works from her home office (or perhaps out of a satellite office) and runs out to speaking/networking opportunities…most likely outside of her city. She shops at upper level grocery stores (Whole Foods, Loblaws, Goodness Me) and is health conscious. She attends (or wants to attend) yoga/exercise classes. She drinks red wine when she relaxes and also when she’s worried about the environment, succeeding in her business, equality for gender and race and her aging parents. While her life is very busy she does travel south at least a couple of times a year On her reading list is self help books/audio podcasts and Rachel’s secret indulgence is watching Netflix to unwind in her Hotel room after an event. So you get the gist right. Rachel is the audience that you want to watch so she’s the one who you speak to create content for, Doesn’t that make it easier to know what to speak about? Always go back to Rachel and she’ll tell you what she needs to hear. Take some time. Pick up your laptop, pen and paper or notebook and write down who your Avatar is. Thanks so much for stopping by. Great to see you here! Have you ever thought of how your audiences problems give you an opportunity to connect with them? Allowing you to genuinely help them however you can so that it benefits you both. In an earlier blogpost, you narrowed down your audience to a one person Avatar and told an entire story around them. Where they shop How and where they live Who they associate with. And Again…why are we doing this? So that you’ll never have to wonder whether your content is RIGHT. it’s always going to go back to your *ideal* person. Now! Going back to your perfect person. Think for a sec. Try to put yourself in their shoes Usually This isn’t too hard because your ideal audience is much like yourself. Now, get out your pen and paper or open up a text screen… You’ll want to write out these questions! Are your ideal customers they searching for a solution to something? What do they worry about? What do they need that you can possibly help them with? For example.. Are they time starved and your ideas can help them save precious minutes when it counts? Are they struggling to make their business a success and you have handy tips to get them to the next level? Are they trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle and you have the best on the go food ideas? Are they going through huge life changes and since you’ve gone through these changes or you’re the expert in this field, you’re the best person to tell relatable stories and offer solutions. If you’re unsure of what they want Go Find out! Recently I did exactly this. I created a 6 question survey in Google forms that I could easily and anonymously link to, share and receive responses. Then I set out to find out about those who I love to work with First I reached out to my network of already ideal clients of speakers, coaches and educators by e-mail, direct messenger. I arranged phone meetings with those amazing people already in my circle. Then I asked them to either share the anonymous survey with people in their network that met the criteria or have them set up phone meetings with me. I shared the link to the form on the social media platforms where I knew where my target audience lived (we will get into where they live in a subsequent video) The result was the following *over 100 people told me what their challenges were, what they’d like their solutions to be and how they would like the solution delivered to them. You might wonder why only 100 people? Well, this was enough for me to see patterns in the way they were thinking. It identified the main problems and the main solutions. And a bonus, I got to speak to some really fantastic new people who I would have never met. Now you know why it’s important to know your audience’s pain points and if you’re stuck how to go about finding out what those things are. Thanks so much for reading. CP~ What's Your Persona.Hiya Friends
Today I wanna discuss Who ARE YOU! Have you ever stopped and wondered who you are and what you are projecting? Your identity as it’s perceived by other people? This is often referred to as PERSONA or Identity. If you’ve been around for a while in your business…in your life. Imagine how people see you in the world. Think of not only your personality, but also your style and how that defines you. Ya know! The *Feel of You*. Why do we want to be clear on who you are? (Or who you want to be) Becoming crystal clear on your persona makes it so much easier to know and plan for the following in your video or video blog:
What language will you use? Are you using sophisticated academic style or scientific jargon or casual everyday speak. What’s the tone of your episodes Humourous, serious, dramatic, straight forward, light, Taking some time to list what you want to *be* will take away the guesswork later. One thing you might want to consider when *making up* a persona that isn’t close to your real personality is. *Can you maintain it?* Clients ask me all of the time… “Can I swear in my Blog, show, or expert video?” And My Answer is…. “Sure! If that matches your persona.” If you’ve decided to create a *clean cut* persona but in real life you cuss like a sailor…. And say your goal for the video is gaining visibility to attract coaching clients And the first thing they hear out of your mouth in real life is… *!!@#$%^* You’ll lose that client My advice to most is to create the character closest or exactly like your own personality. That’s just the easiest to schtick to do. Thanks so much for tuning in. Hit Subscribe for video tips every single week and check outlay Facebook page for updates. If you’d like to ask a question specific to your business, book a zoom call in the contact us section. I’d love to help. Til next time :) CP~ GoalsHi there I’m Carole Parsons Owner Sugar C Media and Your video marketing strategist. The first video in our Pre video and Blog essential series is**********Drum roll please!************* Goals! oooh. I saw half of you cringe and the other half duck. I hear that voice in your head "Pshaw! I don’t need goals. I just do a video when I feel like it."' Well. Yes! You could do that but how do know if your efforts have even paid off. You could just make video Just for the sake of making video but wouldn’t you like it to make the most impact that it can since it takes so much time to make it? Alright…to begin with if you don’t already have a yearly goal for your business; go ahead and make that first. Tying your video and social media efforts to that goal makes it much easier to build out the content, create the call to action and know what to look for when measuring the results. When you make a plan, implement that plan consistently and with focus …goals can be reached. Let's make this easy. Say you wanted to make $48,000 at $1000/package this year by selling 48 more of your already created educational packages. Break that down into 12 months. You’ll need to sell 4 per month. And then 1 per week Lets say, from experience, you already know that in order for you to sell 1 per week you’ll need to have one piece of content get a reach of 4000 people. This will allow you to achieve 400 views from your ideal audience once per week. And 1 video upload optimized on the platform where that audience hangs out (perhaps as a part of a bigger social media campaign) will get you in front of that audience With your goal in mind the equation to a sale is the following: 4000 reach = 400 views = 1 sale Knowing what you want to achieve determines the action that you’d like your audience to take and your content will be focused to speak directly to the targeted audience who will buy. Simple Right?!? Being purposeful with your content creation is truly key. Something to keep in mind when planning out your goals are… Do you have the time and/or resources to create one video weekly? Perhaps you decide that you can only create one per month. Does that mean that you have to change your original goal? Maybe. But maybe there is a workaround by filling in the rest with images, text and shares Goals must be realistic and attainable to be effective. Using the example above and following the S.M.A.R.T. model of goals.
Here’s what we know: “S” stand for Specific: One Video per week is necessary to sell one package of educational training “M” stands for Measurable: In our example, your video sets out to attain a measurable amount of 4000 reach and 400 views per week “A” stands for Achievable: With a paid ad strategy, you know that a 4000 person reach and 400 views are attainable every week “R” stands for Relevant: Creating one video per week is relevant to the bigger picture of the overall business goal of earning $48000 from selling 48 packages of educational training. “T” stands for Time Bound. Our example shows a year plan broken down into, monthly and then weekly goals. Make sense? Do you have an overall goal for your business this year? Do you know what you want your video to achieve? Great questions right? Make those goals people! See you next time. CP~ |
